Privacy Policy
Version 1.0 · Effective 3 September 2026 · Applies to RallyReel 1.0 for iOS
The short version. RallyReel records and analyses your match entirely on your phone. We do not run servers that receive your video, we do not have accounts, and we do not collect analytics. Your clips leave your device only when you choose to save or share them.
1. Who we are
RallyReel is made by Endevo, the software studio of Sergei Benjamin Tabanar. In this policy, "we" and "us" mean Endevo, and "the app" means the RallyReel application for iOS.
We are the data controller for the limited processing described here. In practice there is very little for us to control, because the app is built so that we never receive your information in the first place.
2. What the app stores, and where
Everything RallyReel creates is stored in the app's own private directory on your iPhone, in Apple's standard app sandbox. Nothing in this list is transmitted to us or to anyone else.
| What | Where it lives | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Recorded match video | App sandbox, on your device | It is the footage you asked the app to record or import. |
| Rally clips and thumbnails | App sandbox, on your device | The cut clips the app produces from your recording. |
| Session details | App sandbox, on your device | Start time, duration, rally boundaries, shot counts, and any title you set, so your library persists between launches. |
| Your settings | App sandbox, on your device | Recording quality, which detector you use, and whether the app has learned from your corrections. |
| Subscription status | App sandbox, on your device | A flag recording whether your subscription is currently active, and when it expires. |
Deleting a session in the app deletes its video, clips and thumbnails from your device. Deleting the app removes all of it.
3. What we do not collect
To be specific, rather than reassuring:
- We do not have user accounts, and the app does not ask you to register.
- We do not receive your video, your clips, your thumbnails, or your session data.
- We do not use analytics, crash reporting, advertising, or attribution SDKs. The app contains no third-party code that reports your usage to anyone.
- We do not track you across apps or websites, and we do not sell or share personal information.
- We do not know how often you use the app, what you record, or whether you use it at all.
Because we collect nothing, there is nothing for us to anonymise, aggregate, retain, or breach. We would rather say that plainly than describe safeguards for data we never hold.
4. Permissions the app asks for
| Permission | What it is used for | If you decline |
|---|---|---|
| Camera | Recording your match. | You can still import a video you already filmed. Recording is unavailable, and the app tells you so and offers to open Settings. |
| Microphone | Sound is how the app hears paddle strikes, which is how it counts shots and finds rapid exchanges. Audio is analysed on your device. | Recording is unavailable, for the same reason as above. Imported video still works. |
| Photos (add only) | Saving an exported clip to your photo library, when you ask for it. | You can still share clips through the system share sheet. |
The app requests add-only access to Photos. It does not request permission to read your photo library: choosing a video to import uses Apple's own picker, which hands the app only the one file you selected.
5. Learning from your corrections
Rally detection is not perfect. When you delete a clip that was not really a rally, star one that was, or hand-cut a point the app missed, RallyReel can use that feedback to adjust its detector for your court, your camera position, and your camera angle.
This adjustment happens entirely on your phone. What it produces is a small set of numeric weights — on the order of a hundred numbers — stored alongside your other settings. Your video is not used to train any model of ours, no footage or derived data is transmitted, and nothing about your corrections is visible to us.
The app only adopts an adjustment if it measurably performs better than the default detector on your own corrections. You can turn this off, and reset back to the shipped detector, in Settings at any time.
6. Subscriptions and payments
RallyReel offers an auto-renewing monthly subscription. Purchases are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see your card details, billing address, or Apple ID.
The app stores only whether your subscription is currently active and when the current period ends, so it can unlock features while you are offline. Apple's own handling of your purchase is covered by Apple's Privacy Policy.
7. When video leaves your device
There are exactly two ways, and you initiate both:
- Save to Photos. The clip is written to your own photo library on the same device.
- Share. The clip is handed to Apple's system share sheet, and you choose where it goes — Messages, a social app, AirDrop, or anywhere else. Once it reaches that destination, that service's privacy policy applies, not ours.
The app does not upload anything in the background, and it has no capability to do so on its own.
8. Filming other people
Pickleball is played with other people, usually in shared or public spaces. Those people have not agreed to appear in your recording.
RallyReel reminds you to ask the players on court before you record, and that reminder is genuine rather than decorative: whether you have their consent is your responsibility, and it depends on where you are and who you are filming. Some venues and some countries have specific rules about recording in public. Please respect them, and respect anyone who asks not to be filmed.
9. Children
RallyReel is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone — including children — because the app does not send us personal information at all. If you are a parent or guardian and have a question about your child's use of the app, please contact us.
10. Your rights and choices
Privacy laws including the GDPR and the CCPA give you rights to access, correct, delete, and port your personal information, and to object to its processing.
Those rights are straightforward here: we hold no personal information about you, so there is nothing for us to produce, correct, or erase on request. All of your data lives on your own device and is under your direct control. You can delete any session inside the app, and deleting the app removes everything it created.
We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under the CCPA, and we have never done so.
11. Changes to this policy
If we change how RallyReel handles your information — for example, if a future version introduces optional accounts or cloud backup — we will update this policy, change the version and date at the top, and disclose the change inside the app before the new behaviour takes effect. We will not quietly begin collecting something this policy says we do not collect.
12. Contact
Questions about this policy, or about privacy in RallyReel, can go to hello@endevo.info. We read everything sent there.
